Marietta is one of the most architecturally diverse cities we serve. Around Marietta Square you'll find homes dating to the 1840s with original slate, cedar, and early composition roofs — specialized replacements that require historic-district-appropriate materials. A few miles east in Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield-adjacent neighborhoods, it's 1970s–1990s brick ranches with asphalt shingles. And in East Cobb it's sprawling 1990s–2000s subdivisions with larger re-roof jobs.
Kennesaw Mountain creates a microclimate that can intensify local storm events — occasional hail pockets and wind funneling through the valleys east of the mountain mean Marietta roofs in certain pockets see more storm damage than neighboring cities. We inspect free across the full Marietta and East Cobb area.
Common Marietta roofing issues.
Historic Marietta Square homes need specialized material matching — not every roofer can source slate-look composite, synthetic cedar shake, or hand-split shake replacements that meet local historic guidelines. We handle that material sourcing and permit coordination.
In the East Cobb subdivisions, the dominant issue is aging 1990s-era asphalt shingles reaching end-of-life. Many homes there have never had a re-roof, and the original 20-year shingles are well past spec. Insurance claims (hail + wind damage) are also common — East Cobb sits in a frequent storm corridor.
